Diego Maradona's personal doctor, Leopoldo Luque, appeared before the Criminal Oral Tribunal No. 3 in San Isidro due to his alleged responsibility in the death of the former footballer. During his presence in court, his marked physical transformation drew attention, the result of an intense training regimen he reportedly started a few months ago.
In the hallways of the Tribunal, Luque walked alongside his lawyer, exhibiting a notable change in his appearance. It is worth mentioning that Luque was Maradona's personal doctor and was the one who requested his discharge from the hospital after surgery for a subdural hematoma. According to sources in the case, there are audios he allegedly sent to Maradona in the days leading up to his death.
The prosecutors in charge of the case, Cosme Iribarren, Laura Capra, and Patricio Ferrari, argue that Luque did not provide relevant information about Maradona's health to his daughters, Dalma, Gianinna, and Jana. Additionally, he is accused of having forged Maradona's signature on a medical history request after his admission to the Olivos clinic. Luque is charged with minimizing symptoms consistent with heart failure, as well as failing to carry out necessary checks or call specialists in his treatment.
